Client: Amazon, Last Mile
Amazon Last Mile, a team dedicated to supporting delivery drivers in their final leg of the journey, hired me to create custom illustrations for the UI and apps that assist Amazon drivers. In addition to illustrating, I developed a comprehensive style guide and an asset library for illustrations and icons. I modified an existing delivery driver illustration to create a more relaxed posture and ensure that joints and hands were easily rigged for animation. When designing a diverse library of characters, I prioritized inclusivity, representing a variety of ethnicities. Additionally, I prepared all illustrations for animation rigging in After Effects.
Amazon Vehicles I also created a library of different types of Amazon vehicles and built them so an animator could rig them up easily.
Vehicle Inspection This UI needed illustrations to help guide delivery drivers inspect the vehicle they were going use that day. Each vehicle, must pass inspection before leaving the starting routes. This inspection also needed to apply to the other types of Amazon vehicles such as trucks, cars, and vans and I also provided the illustrations for those.
Error message illustration. When Amazon Flex messages cannot load, there is an error screen that appears. The goal was to create an illustration that alerts the user of this, but does not add to the frustration that may occur when unable to load messages. Since the whole theme of Last Mile is vehicle and delivery, I came up with some ideas involving road problems. The tow truck, the flat tire. We eventually landed on road work signage as the metaphor for this error message.
UI was a huge part of the design for Last Mile. Creating illustrations that would work with the UI of the mobile app for Amazon Last Mile Drivers.

Amazon grocery shoppers guidance on what to look for when picking produce. This was in the grocery shopping app for Amazon Prime drivers. I also illustrated the icons for specific allergies and many other grocery store items.
Single Delivery I needed to come up with an illustration that showed that a single delivery can have up to 12 customer orders. This is a situation where a delivery might be an apartment complex or college dorm that may have several orders. The initial idea from the client was to show 12 customers for this UI. However, due to size limitations and clarity for the best viewing on a device, I decided it was best to show 1 delivery example and use the numbers to communicate 12 orders.
Healthcare Subsidy Amazon drivers get a healthcare subsidy. I wanted to create an approachable and delightful illustration that celebrated when they were eligible for this benefit.
End of Year report for Last Mile I designed this end of year report info graphic that was distributed to all Amazon Last Mile employees globally. The task involved collecting all of the numbers counts for all teams and illustrating each with an illustration that summed up the individual accomplishment.
T-shirt Design Amazon delivery drivers were rewarded with these t-shirts for being frontline essential workers during the pandemic. My task was to create the design for these shirts. We wanted it to be simple, using the iconic Amazon van and a bit of love.
Client: Amazon Illustrated instructional videos and commercials for Amazon products. These illustrations needed to be created with animation in mind. The arms, eyes, hands, etc would need to be handed off to an animator for the final product. In addition to creating characters, I also needed to create backgrounds that were visually engaging and could host an animated figure moving across screen.
Amazon gift cards needed a Mother’s Day e-greeting made. After storyboarding the idea, I created the assets for this animation. We played with different wing styles and poses. In the end, the e-greeting brought in over 1 million of Amazon revenue for Mother’s Day.
Amazon Subscribe & Save The task was to create a fun animated video about the benefits of Subscribe & Save. Since the majority of Amazon shopping is done by women, it made sense to create a mom character who was sort of a super hero of sorts. I created the characters, scenes, and made sure the characters were ready to hand off to an animator.
Amazon was trying out a new style for their how-to commercials. I helped roll out a new style using a minimal color palette and a more hand draw sketch style.
I also helped the team create a futuristic aesthetic for their animated commercials.
